Scarborough
Decorative and Fine Arts Society (SDFAS)
is a member of the National Association of
Decorative and Fine Arts Societies. NADFAS
was formed to bring together people
interested in the decorative and fine
arts, who wished to see and hear
beautifully illustrated lectures from
experts, to visit museums, galleries,
historic houses and gardens, and to
increase and broaden their knowledge of
art in all respects.
In April 2002
Scarborough Decorative and Fine Arts
Society hosted the National Annual General
Meeting of NADFAS at the Scarborough Spa
with over 800 delegates from all over the
UK and overseas.
2008 saw
Scarborough DFAS celebrate its 25th
birthday with a lecture given by
Christopher Lewis, who is a retired
executive director of the Antiques
Roadshow: he shared with us his unusual,
funny and often surprising anecdotes from
behind the scenes of this famous TV show.
