NADFAS
Arts
Education and Heritage Conservation
The National
Association of Decorative and Fine Arts
Societies encourages learning, giving,
studying and friendship, and "above all
NADFAS must be fun" said its founder.
NADFAS was
launched in 1968 by Patricia Fay with
eleven societies and has expanded to over
340 societies in the UK and Mainland
Europe, three in New Zealand and a sister
association in Australia (AADFAS). With
thousands of members worldwide, NADFAS
works towards promoting and preserving the
arts. 40th Anniversary Celebrations were
held in Liverpool in 2008.
The Association's
concerns include voluntary work to
maintain historic buildings, recording
churches and their contents, working
towards developing the arts for the young
and maintaining lecture programmes and
tours for members.
If you are not yet a member of our society
why not become an Affiliate Member of
NADFAS for just £10.00 per year to enjoy a
free subscription to NADFAS Review, which
is
a beautifully illustrated quarterly
magazine, offering information on
art courses, study days, current events
and interesting articles on the arts and
cultural pursuits. The Affiliate
Membership gives you access to a
nationwide programme of vibrant and
thought-provoking study days and events,
as advertised in NADFAS Review and on
the NADFAS website. An Affiliate
Member can participate in NADFAS
volunteering activities, join specially
tailored cultural tours, at home and
overseas, organised by NADFAS travel
affiliates and enjoy occasional ticket
offers and concessions from museums and
galleries across the country.
